“Some accidents are anything but.”
Sage Grimes returns to Edmondsville carrying two devastating losses - her beloved great-uncle Joe and her four-year-old daughter Grace. Seeking refuge in the town that once felt like home, she instead finds returned letters, unsettling signs of an intruder, and terrifying gaps in her memory about the accident that destroyed her world.
Jay Bennett recognizes the shadows behind Sage’s eyes. He’s seen them before in someone he failed to save. Determined not to make the same mistake twice, he offers Sage a lifeline: a journal, a blog, and a reason to reconnect with the world. But as Sage’s writing begins to heal her, someone works in the shadows to destroy everything she’s building, and Jay is keeping secrets of his own.
With her dangerous ex-husband circling, anonymous threats growing bolder, and Edmondsville already living under the shadow of a serial killer, Sage's fragile recovery begins to crack.
Now she must decide who to trust before the truth she's been chasing catches up with her first.
Broken Image is an emotional romantic suspense thriller about grief, healing, and the courage it takes to write your own story when someone is determined to silence you forever.
Reader Reviews:
5-Stars - "I anxiously awaited the second book in Kay Brooks’s series and was not disappointed. Her description of the complicated feelings of Sage after the deaths of her uncle and daughter was realistic, and touching. The entire book was filled with the tension of the, as yet undetermined, serial killer, while Ms. Brooks treated each of her characters and settings with such detail, I feel like I would recognize the small town and its citizens as if I’d been there. The lady is a master storyteller! I anxiously await the next installment." ~ Suanne
